www.shoes.com

I cannot believe the underground shoe society that is in this office. There is an entire group of women here who are constantly ordering shoes online and sharing their experiences. I had no idea that there were in-office shoe fashion shows and that people were trying on each others shoe purchases. Apparently, the mail room guy gets annoyed with all the shoe deliveries around here. Its all in the name of research though!

The inboxes in the offices are filled with shoe photos as making those important buys demands a lot of input. We are going to tap into the MS&L Digital Team to see if we can bring that to life in someway. Of course, I had to do a lot of my own online shoe research! Can I expense the new boots? Hmmm.

Isn't it funny how many people have extra shoes under their desks?

My girlfriend is constantly sending pictures from shoes.com for me to help her decide. Although she never buys the ones I choose. Although she just bought my last choice:

I am on a hunt for black flats - if anyone wants to join me around my monitor to look, let me know. You know, our Influencer Marketing research shows when women shop in pairs, their purchase intent goes up. Is there anything we can do to have women shop with friends online?

Not only do women shop in pairs, but women are more likely to buy something based on a recommendation by her friends and peers. In fact, I just witnessed a woman in our office introduce three others to the Naughty Monkey brand of shoes. They were also influenced by the fact that Sarah Palin buys that brand.

What I'm kind of intrigued by is the psychology of shoes and how a really great fit can make you feel fabulous and unstoppable. For example, my husband and I just bought new hiking boots and they are so comfortable that we have been out hiking literally every weekend this fall. Our shoes have actually been a motivating factor in getting us out of the house and onto the mountain.

I'm generally a comfort over style girl (gasp!), but my favorite pairs are the ones that are both...the ones that feel great and get noticed.

Ok, I have to admit that I'm part of the underground shoe sharing experience in the office. When I have a new pair of shoes, I make sure I stop in the offices of several women here to show off my newly prized possession. It is a great feeling when they join in my excitment over finely crafted leather boots, funky pumps or trendy flats. I feel as if I'm sharing a secret with these ladies, and it's even better when they then go out and purchase the same shoes!

OMG! Why didn't anyone tell me that shoes.com is waaaayyyyy better than zappos.com??? I guess I've been living in the dark ages. I love it--they have UGGS galore--my absolute favorite--including the new silver mettalic UGGS that my husband better get me for Christmas:)
